An amendment is a change or addition to a document. Amendments are used in electronic confirmation matching to change an aspect of a trade (e.g. Delivery Point Area not matching).
The amendment is sent in the same XML format as the original CNF. The only change is the version number (and also the correction if there is a discrepancy), the Document ID and Trade ID should remain exactly the same.
If the amendment is submitted correctly then the new version of the document will be set to 'Pending' and the old version will be set to 'Amended'. Please note the 'Amended' trade will not be displayed in the CMS GUI, you will only view the most recent active version of the document.
If the amendment is not processed correctly, then the amended document will fail. A failure reason could include amending the applicable Trader or Broker (which was abandoned in eCM v3.3). If the amendment fails, the document will stay at the previous active version. For example, if V1 was amended to V2 with the counterparty amended, V2 would fail and the document would remain 'Pending' at V1.
