Why would a trade be stuck in state Receiving or Matching?
A document in 'Receiving' state in CMS has been ‘well received’ but not yet ‘well processed’. When the document is ‘well processed’ then an Acknowledgement Document is issued.
A document in 'Matching' state in CMS has entered the matching dialogue, but the process has not yet been completed.
Trade documents often become 'stuck' in 'Receiving' or 'Matching' state when an acknowledgment is missing from the counterparty; either a 'technical acknowledgement' or a 'business acknowledgment'. Communications issues can also be the cause of trades becoming 'stuck' in 'Receiving' or 'Matching'.
