Notification Agent and BSC Party ID
Notification Agent is the party responsible for notifying the transaction to the Energy Contract Volume Aggregation Agent (ECVAA). This section must be present if and only if the value of field "Commodity" is equal to "Power" and the market has been defined as "GB". It is a key field so it has to match. (Page 59 of eCM Version 4.0 Standards ACCOUNT AND CHARGE INFORMATION: Notification Agent)*
The Standard states the BSCPartyID must appear if and only if the market has been defined as GB and the commodity has been defined as a power commodity. This Identifies a party to the UK Electricity Market Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) One of the two parties, or a third party they both agree to using, should fulfil this role. Usually they would agree bilaterally when the originally entered into there UK power trading relationship. The ECVNA is the "energy contract volume notification agent", it is specific to the UK electricity Market. Basically the Market Operator (MO) in the UK (EXELON) requires all contracted volumes of electricity to be declared to it as part of the scheduling and settlement for physically delivered electricity.
